Weekend Worship Set 10.28.07

Indescribable (Tomlin)
A Greater Song (Redman)
Everlasting God (Brown)
Filled With Glory (Michael Gungor)
Our God Saves (Baloche)

BTW - if you've never done this song Filled With Glory, you should check it out (Song Discovery #54 is where I got it). It really cooks, in a slow, hugely powerful way.

Also, this was our first week to add Our God Saves - that one really rocks too - even on the first time.

Here is Our King (Crowder)
As It Is In Heaven (Maher)
Son of God (Starfield)
Nothing But the Blood (Redman)
All of Me - solo (Scott Krippayne)

btw - that solo is a killer song about overcoming temptation. We did some pre-programming that worked great, and is available to anyone who wants it.

Life in Poetry... Texas

UPDATE: May 17, 2012

Hi all you BBC listeners! I didn't think anybody would find this blog from that radio documentary, but apparently I was wrong. I haven't even updated it in years, so I thought I should maybe post something from this decade.

Yes, Poetry is an awesome place to live, because it's so peaceful & beautiful.  Our place is like a retreat center in the woods. We would be considered some of the "city folks moving to the country," since we've only lived here since 2003. But I grew up in the Ozark Mountains in northwest Arkansas, so that's why I wanted to get out to the country. Now we have deer, wild hogs, and all kinds of other wildlife, right in our yard. Our dogs are so used to it all, they don't even chase anything anymore - they just lie there & watch.

Thanks to those of you who commented on my Poetry song! When Pejk called to ask if he could interview us, he asked if I had ever written a song about Poetry. I told him I hadn't, and he asked, "could you?" At that point, I only had a couple hours before the interview, so I guess that's why it's only about a half of a song! Maybe someday I'll write another verse or two. I do plan on doing a decent recording of it as is, so I can post it on here eventually.

So - maybe now that I actually have some folks reading this blog, I'll turn it into a Poetry blog & keep it current! I've posted a few new pictures at the bottom of this post, mostly just pictures from my iPhone.

Thanks for reading!
See you
Danny

No, I'm not kidding - I live in Poetry, TX. It's not really a town, but more like a community in the woods. We have a gas station & a feed store. It's at least 20 minutes to anywhere. But it has advantages... such as getting to live in Poetry TX. That's my house, and below are 3 more pictures I shot from the road on my way to work this morning. The temperature finally got below 60 last night, & the humidity was low - it was an awesome morning. So I decided to share it with all 4 of my readers...

I don't mind the 20 minute drive to work, at all. Or the slow satellite internet service. Or the lack of nearby stores or other conveniences. In my line of work (which is so public) it's really refreshing to be able to go home every night to what most people would consider a retreat center.

So, I have no deeper point to this post - it's just that I love the great home God has given me & my family - I wish you could all come see it sometime. All 4 of you.

BMG in Dallas

Blue Man Group last night in Dallas was great! But not as good as the Vegas show. If you're thinking about going to see them, here are a few points to consider:

•The rock tour includes too much music & not enough goofy stuff.
•The musicians are scary.
•Those guys with blue heads are scary.
•The really tall guy who always gets a seat right in front of you is scary.
•Blue Man is always way creative, and a lot of fun.
•Great place to steal ideas!

2 posts in one day - it's a record.
